Getting Started
Go from zero to your first automated stockwatch in under five minutes.
1. Create a screen
Head to the Screener. You have two ways to build a screen:
- AI mode -- Type what you're looking for in plain English, e.g. "small-cap tech stocks with rising revenue and low P/E". StockWatch builds the query for you.
- Advanced mode -- Use the visual builder to pick metrics, operators, and values. Combine rules with AND/OR groups for complex logic.
You can switch between modes at any time. AI-generated screens can be tweaked in Advanced mode.
2. Review your results
After running a screen, the results table shows all matching tickers with the metrics used in your query. Click any column header to sort. Click a ticker row to see the full company detail page with charts and SEC filing links.
3. Save as a StockWatch
Give your screen a name (e.g. "High Growth Tech") and click Save. This creates a StockWatch -- a saved screen that StockWatch will re-run for you every night against fresh market data.
Find all your saved watches on the My StockWatches page.
4. Enable alerts
On the screener page for a saved watch, toggle Alerts on. StockWatch will now notify you whenever stocks enter or exit your watch. Alerts are delivered by:
- Email -- included on all paid plans
- Webhooks -- available on the Pro plan (setup guide)
5. Check your watches
Visit My StockWatches to see all your saved screens. Each card shows:
- How many tickers currently match
- An Updates badge when new tickers have been added or removed since you last looked
- Whether alerts are on or off
Click any watch to open it in the screener, review the latest results, and clear unread changes.
